Rachel Renton has completed a Bachelor in Psychology, Master in Social Work, and certification in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy. Rachel has worked in the mental health sector for 14 years and in this time has supported individuals, couples and families with a diverse range of presentations and backgrounds.
Rachel brings a compassionate and calm presence to sessions to build a foundation of safety, acknowledging how difficult it can be for couples to reach out for support.
Rachel believes that each relationship is unique and brings with it its own strengths and challenges. Using Emotion Focused Therapy Rachel helps couples to work through their distress, understand their relational patterns to develop a renewed love and compassion for each other.
Rachel has extensive experience working in the areas of neurodivergence, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief & self-harm. Rachel integrates knowledge and skills from a broad range of modalities including Acceptance & Commitment Theory, Systems Theory, Attachment theory, Trauma theory, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
