Dr Delwyn Carpenter
is a clinical psychologist who is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. She completed a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and is an experienced group therapy facilitator and a psychology board approved supervisor.
Trained as a Cognitive-Behaviour Therapist (CBT) Delwyn draws from a range of therapy models in addition to CBT including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Psychodynamic therapy. Delwyn has extensive experience working in private inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings and in ‘not-for-profit’ community health settings.
Delwyn specialises in the area of perinatal and infant mental health: providing assessment, diagnosis and psychotherapy for women and their partners presenting with antenatal and postnatal mental health issues; anxiety (including perfectionism, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias, social anxiety and panic); mood disorders, grief, trauma, self-esteem, and relationship issues.
Delwyn Carpenter commenced her career as a musician and for many years taught music in private schools. She enjoys working with students who have anxiety in academic settings and performing artists with performance anxiety, career and lifestyle issues.
