Jennifer Beaton

is an endorsed counselling psychologist who has completed a Master of Psychology (Counselling Psychology) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and fellow of the APS College of Counselling Psychologists.

Jennifer is warm, empathic, respectful and non-judgemental, and places significant value on establishing a collaborative and safe therapeutic relationship.

She has experience working with adults across a variety of settings. Her clinical interests and experience include adult survivors of childhood physical, emotional, and sexual abuse and neglect; PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic disorder, agoraphobia, OCD, eating disorders, gender and sexuality issues, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, grief and loss, anger and anger management, complex and chronic health and pain issues.

Jennifer Beaton is trained in and utilises a wide range of evidence-based approaches that are tailored to meet the individual needs of each client. This includes cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, schema therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, mindfulness and compassion-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and interpersonal therapy.

Jennifer does not see legally mandated clients or write legal assessment reports for clients or their lawyers. She works with clients from 18 years & over. Whilst Jennifer does not see clients who are acutely psychotic, she is willing to see clients who have psychotic or bipolar disorders provided they are also managed by a psychiatrist and adhering to a medication regime.
